Spectral deep house freshness from the Morphine records stable. 'Memoria' is only the second release from Matteo Ruzzon under his Madteo alias, and this will probably come as quite a shock once you realise that the supremely deep styles could easily be mistaken as the work of someone far more experienced. The album confidently consolidates strands of deep house and dub in an individually esoteric style that calls to mind the work of Newworldaquarium under his 154 alias, or Omar-S jamming with Theo Parrish after a day of smoking some heavy duty tweed. The generally submerged and claustrophobic rhythms lend themselves very well to headphone listening, but the sheer weight and keen dub producers sense of spatial awareness will also carry through in the club, making this album quite indispensible, and defintiely puts it out of that buy techno/house album > listen to album once/maybe twice > never listen to it again category.
